Gale's

Gale's was delicious. The bread they brought out was so warm and tasty! The caprese salad was also great! I wish I ordered some to go. My family had pizza, which they said it was so good that they would go back. They are picky about pizza. My pasta was the only thing that was just ok. It needed a little more seasoning. Other than that, I recommend trying it out if you're in the Pasadena area. We were visiting from out of town. I would like to give our server Raul, 5 stars across the board!! He was the best!

Made a reservation a month in advance for my husband’s birthday lunch. It went smoothly making the reservation over the phone and they texted me reminder confirmations twice before the date. We walked here so I can’t comment on the parking. Inside is really nice and quaint. I wanted to avoid sitting outside because it was a hot day. I like a lot of their decorations. Our waiter was helpful but not friendly. His expression seemed very bothered but I guess because it was a busy day (a Saturday). They brought us water, bread, and oil&balsamic vinegar once we sat down, so that was nice! We ordered the Cacio E Pe Pe and Pork Panini. Both were delicious! Portions are kinda small so I definitely would get my own entree. After paying the bill, they bring you out complimentary biscotti (a nice gesture but it felt like I was biting into a rock. Couldn’t eat it with my sensitive teeth). I did specify and ask, when I made my reservation, if they provide anything for bdays. They said a free slice of cake! I kept waiting to see if they would bring it out to surprise my husband but they never did & instead asked if we wanted a dessert menu. So I got up to ask the waiter if they provide anything for bdays and he said coconut cake. So he brought it out for us on a plate and even included a candle! Overall, I would say we had a good experience. The food is really good. Just on the smaller portion side. Pricing is average. Probably would come back again.

I ordered the crab beet and avocado salad. It was $28.66- kind of expensive for a salad but I didn’t mind because I was craving all three ingredients. But when I received it, I was shocked how tiny a portion it was and how bad it tasted. It was more like a scoop of way over salted crab meet, 3 thin slices of avocado and maybe a teaspoon of diced beets. Not to mention when I came to pick up my order they were quite rude and pretentious. Not coming here again.

Gale's is a long time establishment fixture in Pasadena. We have been coming to Gale's for years now. I would highly recommend Gale's if you are looking for high quality Italian cuisine. Their prices are higher. Dinner pastas run about $20 and meats and fish run about $30-$40's. Over the many years of lunches and dinners at Gale"s we have never been disappointed. Gale's homemade biscotti served after dinner is excellent and a perfect closing to a great meal.

As true Italian I’m always hyper critical when I eat at an italian restaurant. This place did not disappoint. Food and drinks very good and authentic. I ordered the prosciutto and burrata appetizer, some fried scampi and le lasagne. The burrata and prosciutto appetizer was huge- something that in Italy would be considered a main course but here in the US is just an appetizer 🤣. I was already full eating that. Regardless I tried the scampi and they were really good and light. The lasagne were very good too. Lastly the cheesecake was not overly sweet and I could tell it was home made which is something I always appreciate. Service was great especially Amelia that really went out of her way to help me choose.
